Presented by Atlanta's own Household Management, Drink the Sea Tour 2010 comes to Atlanta's own Mascarade nightclub. Located in the Poncey Highland downtown area the venue fills it's lots with car loads of able bodies ready for a night of pure galactic tunes and undercurrents of  hard hitting bass sounds twisted together with samples of hip-hop. Free the Robots, Deru, and The Glitch Mob promotes the Mob's debut album, Drink the Sea. Available in stores now and can be heard online here.
The night begins up a flight of stairs to the main-stage of the Mascarade, quite suitably called "heaven"  as the dance floor starts to fill, I quickly maneuver my way front and center. First on the ballot is Free the Robots bringing a digitally composed mix of traditional jazz tunes, psyhtrance, and hip hop that purvey the mega ton speakers siding the stage. Next is Deru with a set of gears and grinds overlaying delicate ambient tunes mixed in with bits of hip hop. And in my opinion was one of the best electronic sets I have had the pleasure of hearing in a while.

Lights Dimmed, Beginning of The Glitch Mob

Soon the lights go out and bubbled swirls of blue, purple, and red graphics reflect off stage, a shadow appears amongst the lurid backdrop and for 30 secs Ed's "Edit" guitar riffs is the only sound heard. Then strobes of light flash themselves to reveal Josh " Oooah" and Justin " Borata" beating away at a pair of steel drums, pounding out heavy hitting dubstep, poped out hip hop, live instrumentation and pure doses of epic bass licks that will, repeat, will blow ones mind.
The California native three piece Glitch Mob brings a performance that is similar to riding a warhead across a galaxy painted with star clusters that is and can be only described as intensely -stellar. Synthesized pounding beats over the sound of intense beating drums produce a unique sound that is as epic and engaging as the live performances put on by this three mob act. Interchanging between guiters, drums, keyboard, and fully loaded laptops; "Edit", "Boreta", and "Oooah" sync their music together in perfect harmony.  scoring the top of my list of best live electronic acts I have seen in 2010.

The night ended with a hard hitting bang of a touch pad, the lights go up ending the show with The Glitch Mob coming out on stage and signing autographs for all the fans. The people, the lights, sound quality, and performances made this a well orchestrated night of pure chaotic, dance your face off while listening to pounding electronic beats blasted from over sized speakers. The Glitch Mob, Deru, and Free the Robots brings in all the goods sprung from the streets of California to the metropolis of Atlanta.
Massive loads of dancers and plenty of crazy lights zooming from the stage Free the Robots, Deru, and The Glitch Mob packs the night in with fat beats that really gives the audience a soulful heap of epically galactic electronic music. A mixture of genres and sounds that one could possibly listen to in deep space. Definitely tunes worthy of buying at the record store and three acts that will hopefully bring their bass dropping, hip hop funky electronic beats back to Atlanta.
